SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH, 2021.-
CHUCK DeBRODER informs: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all Sunday, February 14th until February 15 at 5:00AM.
A winter storm will affect the Borderland starting tonight, lasting through late Sunday night. An upper trough and a backdoor cold front bring rain, snow ,and freezing temperatures to the entire area. The Sacramento Mountains, the Gila region, the Black Range, the Otero Mesa and Hudspeth County will experience moderate to heavy snow. The greatest accumulations will be in the Sacs and the Black Range with snow amounts up 9 to 12 inches.
Most of the snow accumulation is expected to occur between roughly 8 AM and 11 PM Sunday. Wind chill values will drop into the single digits to teens Sunday night
into Monday morning.
Slow down and use caution while traveling as roadways may become snow-covered and slick. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Very cold temperatures are expected Monday morning, so be sure to protect your pipes, pets, and plants.
